STANTON PRIMARY SCHOOL

Welcome to our website!

We are a small village school set in large grounds with super children, friendly staff and supportive parents and governors!

Our school ethos is to create a safe, caring, happy and stimulating learning environment where everyone feels valued and included in our school family. Our school motto 'We can... We will!' highlights our drive to aim for personal excellence in all we do!

Our committed staff provide an environment where individual needs are met to enable all our children to achieve their full potential and equip them with life skills necessary to prepare them for their future... And for them to leave each day with a smile on their face!

If you would like to book an appointment t come and look at our school in action, please ring to book an appointment.

Thank you for visiting!

Eco Warriors!

Our Eco Warriors is made up of 13 children from Year 1 through to Year 6. The children were asked to complete an application form and were then selected by school staff. It is an opportunity for the children to get involved in helping Stanton Primary School to be more environmentally friendly. Our Eco Warrior representatives develop skills such as confidence, communication and negotiation. It is their responsibility to ensure that they express both their own views and the views of the pupils they represent (their class peers).

Well done to the elected members of our Eco Council:

What Do We Do?

Members of the Eco Warriors take part in discussions and votes and also feed back any relevant information to their class. At times they are requested to ask their class for ideas or to take class votes relating to discussions we have in Eco Warrior meetings. Members meet once a half-term with Mrs Bunniss and Miss Zahra to discuss their ideas and to work through the Eco Council programme. Follow the link below for more information on the Eco Council Programme.

This year’s Eco Warriors will be working through the seven steps to Green Flag success. Now that we have elected our Eco Warriors our next step is to complete an Environmental Review to help us assess what our School's priorities should be.

Meetings:

Meeting 1: Thursday 20th April 2023

In our first meeting of this academic year we reviewed our actions from last year. We discussed plans for this year and put a date in for a litter pick and for an afternoon of Eco Council to enable us to move forward with our action plan on waste and energy.

What Have We Been Up To?

On Thursday 27th January 2022 we did a litter pick around school. We tidied up our outdoor areas and talked about why we were doing it and the benefit it would have. We then created some posters to put up around school to remind our peers to put their litter in the bin. We will be putting these up next week. We also created a rota for us to litter pick once a week during lunchtimes to ensure that we keep on top of litter at school.
